HC Alkaloid’s consistent performances and strong results have been officially recognized by the City of Skopje and the Skopje Sports Union, with the club receiving two prestigious accolades.

The team has been named Best Sports Team after achieving the most notable European success in the past calendar year, highlighted by winning the EHF European Cup. The award was accepted on behalf of the club by operations director Milosh Miloshevski.

In addition, the Best Coach award from the City of Skopje and the Skopje Sports Union also went to HC Alkaloid. Our club can also boast the Best Coach of the past calendar year, and that is our handball legend, Kiril Lazarov.

HC Alkaloid secured an impressive away victory, collecting valuable points in the Macedonian Super League playoffs with a convincing performance against HC Butel Skopje.

The first half was finely balanced, with neither side able to break away, and HC Alkaloid went into the break holding a slim 16-15 lead.

After the restart, Alkaloid delivered a completely transformed display. Their defense proved rock-solid for a full 19 minutes, while the attack produced a devastating 13-goal run, making it 15-29 by the 49th minute.

The tempo dropped slightly in the closing stages of the match, ending with a final score of 37-21.

Ivan Djonov led the scoring with eight goals, followed by Nenad Kosteski with seven and Damjan Mitev with six.

In the next round, HC Alkaloid will host a derby clash against HC Eurofarm Pelister.

HC Alkaloid recorded yet another Super League victory, further improving their points tally in the Playoff standings as the first phase of the postseason draws to a close.

Playing on home court, HC Alkaloid hosted CHC Tikvesh and produced a commanding display, ultimately sealing a dominant 15-goal triumph.

The home side set the tone early, taking a 4-1 lead after five minutes, a cushion they preserved over the next ten minutes. A subsequent 6-1 run extended the advantage to 14-7 in the 20th minute.

At halftime, the score stood at 20-12, and ten minutes into the second half, HC Alkaloid reached a double-digit advantage for the first time (25-15).

From that point on, HC Alkaloid dictated the tempo, rounding off the evening with a convincing 40-25 victory.

Brothers Nikola and Nenad Kosteski were the standout performers for HC Alkaloid, scoring eight and six goals, respectively.

The Macedonian Handball Federation conducted the draw for the semi-final matches of the Macedonian Cup for the 2025/26 season. The final tournament will be played in a Final Four format, with the decisive matches taking place in Strumica at the Park sports hall on 17 and 19 April.

HC Alkaloid will face HC Vardar 1961 in the semi-finals, setting the stage for a clash between the two most recent cup winners. HC Alkaloid lifted the trophy in 2024, while HC Vardar, the 2025 champion, enters as the defending title holder.

The other semi-final pairing features CHC Ohrid and HC Eurofarm Pelister.

HC Alkaloid has filed an official complaint regarding the scandalous officiating in the match against CHC Ohrid.

Handball Club Alkaloid informs the public that an official complaint has been submitted to the competent bodies of the Macedonian Handball Federation due to serious refereeing errors and highly inconsistent officiating in the match between CHC Ohrid and HC Alkaloid, played on 14 March 2026 at the Biljanini Izvori sports hall in Ohrid, as part of Round 2 of the Macedonian Super League Playoffs, which ended in a 27-27 draw.

This was a match of exceptional importance in the playoff phase, a derby with significant competitive weight, intensity, and a major impact on the championship’s further course. Precisely for this reason, such matches require the highest level of professionalism, focus, integrity, and consistency in officiating.

HC Alkaloid considers that it was severely disadvantaged in this match by the decisions of the refereeing duo Viktor Nachevski and Danielo Bozhinovski, whose officiating, according to the club, was poor throughout the entire match, marked by inconsistent criteria, differing approaches in identical situations, and several controversial decisions that directly affected the rhythm of play, the team’s psychological stability, and the final result.

“The derby match in Ohrid had all the characteristics of a true derby, with the score margin throughout the full 60 minutes remaining within one to two goals. The match could have been decided at any point, particularly in the closing stages. We believe that HC Alkaloid was severely disadvantaged by the catastrophic officiating of the refereeing duo Viktor Nachevski and Danielo Bozhinovski. The officiating was poor throughout the entire match, the criteria were not consistent, and on several occasions decisions were made to the detriment of HC Alkaloid, which we believe directly influenced the final outcome of the derby,” stated the club’s president, Goran Minov.

HC Alkaloid expects the Macedonian Handball Federation, without delay, to thoroughly, professionally, and responsibly review the submitted complaint and determine whether the fundamental criteria for fair, objective, and impartial officiating were met in this match. We call on the competent authorities to act professionally, responsibly, and without compromise.

HC Alkaloid will continue to use all permitted and legitimate mechanisms to protect its rights, interests, and the club’s sporting integrity.

HC Alkaloid booked its place in the Final Four of the Macedonian Cup after delivering two strong performances in today’s quarterfinal group held in the Avtokomanda arena, first defeating HC Radovish and then overcoming HC Prolet 62 in the final.

Earlier in the day, HC Alkaloid dominated the semifinal encounter, cruising to a 41-21 (22-7) victory to secure a spot in the final against the winner of the clash between HC Prolet 62 and HC Macedonia Gjorche Petrov.

The final began with a balanced and competitive opening, as the teams remained close through the first 15 minutes, with the visitors slightly ahead. From that point on, HC Alkaloid gradually imposed control and lived up to its favorite status. The score was last level at 8-8, before HC Alkaloid moved ahead by two goals (10-8) after 20 minutes. By halftime, HC Alkaloid had increased the advantage by one more goal, heading into the break at 15-12.

The second half saw a more assertive start from HC Alkaloid, who quickly pulled away with a 4-0 run in the opening seven minutes to build a 19-12 advantage.

The pace of the match remained measured, with both sides focusing on structured attacks. Both goalkeepers and attackers had their moments, but a number of errors were also evident, while the margin consistently hovered between seven and nine goals.

HC Alkaloid extended its lead to double digits for the first time in the 48th minute (26-16). In the closing stages, the emphasis shifted more toward offensive play, and the match concluded with a dominant 34-18 win for HC Alkaloid.
