For their last appearance at the Avtokomanda arena this season, HC Alkaloid hosted CHC Ohrid, a side bolstered by several young additions for this encounter. The first half lacked intensity and tempo, particularly in physical duels, and ended with a narrow 11-9 advantage for the home team.

HC Alkaloid stepped up its performance after the break, immediately pulling away from the visitors. Within six minutes of the restart, the lead had grown to 16-10, and by the 43rd minute, the hosts had established a double-digit cushion at 22-12. From there, HC Alkaloid comfortably managed the remainder of the game to secure another routine two points.

New Derby Clash at Avtokomanda

Only three matches remain for HC Alkaloid before the curtain falls on this season’s domestic Super League campaign. The intense fixture list continues to shape the closing stages, and tomorrow’s clash (Wednesday, June 4, 2025) holds significant weight in determining the final standings and the allocation of spots in next season’s European competitions.

HC Eurofarm Pelister, one of the championship’s top three sides, will visit the Avtokomanda arena for a match crucial to HC Alkaloid’s pursuit of a second-place finish. A win by more than two goals would greatly boost Alkaloid’s chances of securing the runner-up position. The match between HC Alkaloid and HC Eurofarm Pelister kicks off at 19:00 and will be broadcast live on MRTV.

Following this encounter, HC Alkaloid will play its remaining two matches of the season: a home fixture against CHC Ohrid on Friday, June 6, 2025 (18:00), and a final away game versus HC Butel Skopje.

HC Alkaloid secured a four-goal victory (29-25) over Greece’s AEK in the opening leg of the EHF European Cup final in Athens.

Inside a packed arena buzzing with tension, the match was paused twice as home fans threw objects onto the court. Undeterred by the hostile atmosphere, HC Alkaloid rose to the challenge, battled with grit, withstood the pressure, and ultimately achieved the result they sought.

In the opening fifteen minutes, the two teams were evenly matched, exchanging leads. However, HC Alkaloid executed their tactics more efficiently, anchored by a rock-solid defense, with the team shouldering the entire burden. The blue-and-white squad found their stride late in the first half, edging ahead to close that period 16-14.

The pace intensified after halftime. HC Alkaloid controlled the scoreboard, as AEK poured every ounce of effort into chasing the tie. The X-factor was goalkeeper Ivan Galevski, who thwarted five of AEK’s seven-meter attempts.

Twice in the second half, play was suspended due to unruly home fans. Nevertheless, HC Alkaloid’s players held firm, delivered a stellar performance, and ultimately broke through AEK’s resistance to claim the hard-fought victory.

The return leg is set for next week at the Boris Trajkovski Arena in Skopje.
