HC Alkaloid claimed their eighth Super League win of the season, staying undefeated ahead of Sunday’s city derby against HC Vardar 1961.

Today’s visitors at the Avtokomanda Arena were HC Struga and HC Alkaloid lived up to their status of heavy favorites, taking complete control of the game right from the opening whistle.

The highlight of the game for HC Alkaloid was the return of Marko Mitev, one of Macedonia’s top handball players, who returned to the lineup for the first time after several months being sidelined due to injury.

Marko Mitev missed the final stretch of last season and has been preparing for his comeback ever since. Today, he was finally back in the squad; this is also great news for the Macedonian national team, which will take the court at the EHF EURO in Denmark this January.

On the scoreboard, HC Alkaloid led 8-4 and 10-5, before taking a 19-13 advantage into halftime. Marko Stojkovic led the way, netting six goals in the opening half.

Their dominance carried over into the second half, and by the 33rd minute, HC Alkaloid had stretched the lead to double digits (23-13). Emilijan Gjorgovski caught fire, adding six goals by the 40-minute mark.

The margin kept growing until the final buzzer, with the scoreboard freezing at 44-27.
